Highland Park Golf Course was originally established in 1903 making it the oldest golf course in Alabama. Originally developed as The Country Club of Birmingham, Highland Park has been the site of many important golf events including one of renowned golfer Bobby Jones? first victories. At the age of 14, Jones played and won the Birmingham Country Club Invitational held at Highland Park. In 1927, the course opened to the public. In 1955, the course was named for Charley Boswell, a Birmingham native and 17-time National Blind Golf Champion. Rolling along the 22,000-acre Dannelly Reservoir, this 236-acre park features a nine-hole golf course with clubhouse, spacious vacation cottages, modern campground with bathhouse, laundry and campstore; and a scenic picnic area with tables, grills, pavilions and comfort station. With fishing so popular in the reservoir, the park also provides boat launching facilities and bait and tackle amenities.

Tartan Pines features a public 18-hole golf course, lighted driving range, clubhouse, restaurant, meeting facilities, and golf shop.

This park spans 1,445 acres along the shores of scenic Lake Martin, which is a 41,000-acre clear-water reservoir perfect for fishing, swimming and boating.
